It's a pretty common characteristic of over-drinkers: trying to do too much. over-functioning. not taking time off. feeling responsible for things that aren't our responsibility.

trying to cram 10 pounds of shit into a 5 pound bag.

yup. i'm familiar with this!

"more is more. one degree isn't enough, let's go for two."

it's not just type A or 'driven' -- it's all that AND a percentage of compulsivity.

"I just need to do one more thing and then i'll feel better. I just need to finish all the alcohol and then i'll quit. I just need to watch one more show and then I'll go to bed."

But what if I said that YOU learning to do less, build in more buffers, delegate, AND reducing your own emotional overwhelm is going to be the biggest KEY indicator of your ability to be long-term sober from all the things..
