Kaye asked me to record a personalized audio for her. Here's her email to me:
“Belle, I’m day 7 alcohol free. Last year I made it 5 months ... I have pretty bad anxiety which the alcohol made worse ... last night and today the anxiety came back and I feel a constant hum of anxiousness. Any advice on how to cope? I’ve been exercising, eating well, doing yoga ... I’m very glass-half-empty ("I don’t have enough time, I’m going to mess this up, something bad will happen") and I work myself into a very anxious place and can’t get out of it. I used to choose to drink to escape that feeling.”
So what do we need to learn in order to manage our anxiety? What tools, ways to change the channel, medication, counselling, supports, and cheerleading can be helpful for you?
