Sober Podcast 240 - Rebellion

This audio is about having a rebellious nature (who me?) or maybe you call it being ‘independent to a fault’ … I speak on the phone with Case Study Michelle about how we both have been independent, and how we’ve sorted it out (ok, not ALL sorted). I also talk about how when you’re early sober (or not sober) the voice in your head sounds like you, and you believe the messages it's telling you. I even mention in a side-conversation that I don’t believe in self-sabotage… (you'll have to listen to see what I mean). And also, how there ARE sober tools, but our rebellious brain doesn’t want them.

When Michelle asks me for an example of how I’m still rebellious in my current life, even though I’m sober, this takes us through a conversation about how sometimes being independent can help. But you’ve gotta be sober. First.

Homework: Tell me about a time where you were rebellious when trying to be sober and how that didn't help you very much. Then think of an example where your same rebellious sober nature has worked for you. Maybe it's your new-found stubbornness and the effort you apply to remaining sober!
