Lydster asked me to talk about this: "Why does alcohol so darkly affect our mood. It fascinates me how having even one tiny drink would open just a teeny bit the can of extremely angry worms that live inside. Sometimes I wonder if I need them to all come out because that can must still be deep inside me ready to be opened. It's weird. It's like it switched on my angry tap..."

Angry worms. Angry birds. Does booze bring out the angry in us?

feedback from Wren:
"Oh, wow. This podcast was great. I had always thought that the white-hot anger that would erupt when I was plastered was due to lava bubbling deep within me, and that "the truth was at the bottom of the bottle." Yet I didn't feel that angry when I was sober--usually just deeply remorseful toward my husband, who often received the brunt of my anger ... Your podcast was the first time I have heard this issue addressed -- that it is in fact the booze that causes the anger, not the booze that illuminates existing anger that "lived" deep inside me, like some gross, slimy Alien creature! ... That is such a relief to me. Thank you!"
